Job Introduction
Based in Singapore, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing highly effective marketing plans that deliver against our business objectives, as well as our affiliate and content sales client objectives in SEA.

The Marketing manager should be highly collaborative and skilled at bringing people together to leverage the knowledge and creativity from people across the business, helping to develop new ideas and deliver world class marketing initiatives. The role will also be required to monitor and review the marketing initiatives, ensuring learnings are shared and implemented at pace. The role will be most suited to a highly motivated self-starter that is always looking to learn and build on the companies and their own success. They will most likely be a Senior Marketing Executive looking for their next move career move or a recently promoted Marketing Manager.

The role will report to the Head of Marketing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage affiliate and content sales marketing across SEA accounts and markets.
  • Work with Communications team on developing communications strategies for BBC’s branded services and content across SEA accounts and markets to deliver a fully integrated marcomms plan.
  • Responsible for planning and ensuring that all affiliate marketing deliverables are met, with the key objective of increasing product / service performance, business revenue and opportunities.
  • Manage and build strong relationships with key affiliates and internal stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of new media/industry trends and proactively make strategic recommendations to managers on new marketing and research opportunities.
  • Plan and implement regular sales training and engagement to maintain top-of-mind recall among affiliates for all our channels.
  • Manage relationships with key media to build and maintain profile of our business among trade media.
  • Regularly communicate with UK based teams to ensure they are aware of content pipeline and related marketing support, as well as proactively providing suggestions on how the central planning can better support regional initiatives.
  • Work on sales and/or marketing presentations on an ad hoc basis, collating research data, programming information, promo reels, screeners and campaign examples for the commercial team’s or external partners’ needs.
  • Internal coordination with programming and production departments on monthly work orders for on-air and off-air video/audio materials.
  • Ensure all marketing tools available – EPKs, promos, trails, web content, photography etc., are supplied to the broadcaster or affiliate partner within deadlines for transmission
  • Manage the marketing budget to ensure spend is allocated effectively against activities that deliver against objectives and maximise impact.
  • Create and track budgets for marketing plans
  • Work with the regional insight manager to evaluate consumer, trade and affiliate marketing activity.

Scope & Impact
  • The role is responsible for the planning and delivery of fully integrated marcomms plans for the allocated markets and clients.
  • The role is required to champion a collaborative working environment, support creativity and drive innovation across marketing.
  • The marketing manager will be required to take on a brand champion role disseminating updates and providing single point of contact for UK global brand teams.
  • Must be flexible and work across a range of genres, across all media (irrespective of their area of expertise) and in line with the wider business needs.
  • Audience and customer focus is critical to the success of our business and fundamental to all brand communications.

Requirements:
  • Planning and Organisation : The role requires meticulous planning and organisation of tasks to ensure all stakeholders are involved where appropriate and kept informed on a regular basis, and that deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Direction Received : The role receives direction from the Head of Marketing
  • Strategic Planning & Decision Making : Working closely with the Head of Marketing the Marketing Manager is responsible for the planning and delivery of the marketing plans for allocated markets across SEA
    • Drive audience growth across our BBC Worldwide branded services and related products for Asia.
    • The marketing manager should work with teams across the business to ensure plans align with the overall business objectives.
  • Relationships: External clients, Internal departments, external agencies, suppliers and partners – both Asia and UK based.

Knowledge & Skills:
  • Experience in TV marketing (broadcast and/or cable) with strong client management background preferred
  • Demonstrate understanding and experience of social & digital marketing
  • Have the ability to translate strategy into relevant marketing plans
  • Be a creative thinker / problem solver
  • The ability to identify and secure opportunities for brand partnerships / collaborations that extend the reach and impact of our content and brands beyond what we can achieve via annual marketing budgets.
  • A proven track record in running high impact consumer campaigns with demonstrated ROI
  • Prior understanding of global multi format brand management (and associated opportunities and challenges) preferred
  • Ability to work with flexibility and common sense across divisions and manage time efficiently
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with a broad number of stakeholders and partners
  • To be a self-starter, tenacious, motivated and proactive
Education
  • Proficient Microsoft Word and Powerpoint skills or similar
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent written and spoken command of the English language is essential
  • Marketing degree desired but not required
Professional Experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in TV marketing (broadcast and/or cable) with strong client management background preferred
  • Strong client management approach - ability to assess/understand client needs and translate into action plan.
  • Possess the business acumen to interpret data (KPI's), identify and create promotional opportunities and success criteria designed to achieve department objectives.
  • Insightful consumer marketer with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
